Sustainable mobilities: a poorly initiated transition?

Les Rencontres du Forum Vies Mobiles
The transport sector is now the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases after the energy sector. However, unlike energy, transport emissions continue to grow at a high rate. By 2050, transport could become the world’s largest emitter of greenhouse gases on a global scale. In the face of such a challenge, how do authorities intend to ensure the long-term sustainability of transport systems? What measures do they propose? Are these enough? How can we do more? To answer these questions, the Forum launched an unprecedented research project that mobilized seven researchers over four years and across fourteen countries around the world.

On October 2, 2018, the Mobile Lives Forum first presented the findings of its study, entitled "Decarbonized mobilities: a poorly initiated transition," with Arnaud Passalacqua who provided some historical context on the different ways in which France tried to ensure the sustainability of its transport system during the 20th century.

Here is the research project’s page.

With Arnaud Passalacqua , lecturer at the University Paris Diderot and director of the Master’s program in Energy, Ecology & Society. Christophe Gay and Sylvie Landriève , directors of the Mobile Lives Forum.
