Philippe Violier is a geographer, professor at the University of Angers and head of the UFR Esthua Tourism and Culture research department since 2006. He is a member of the UMR, a joint research team affiliated with the CNRS, ESO Space and Society. He contributed to the creation of the magazine Mondes du tourisme, that he directed from 2010 to 2019 (https://journals.openedition.org/tourisme. His latest publication, in collaboration with Benjamin Taunay, was published by ISTE in 2019 and focuses on the tourist locations of the world (Les lieux touristiques du Monde).
