How do transport planners and researchers influence decision makers? In this webinar, we examine the importance of political engagement in shaping the debate around transport and influencing outcomes to move plans forward.
Lewis North, Head of Public Affairs for Rail Partners (UK), will discuss how to engage with politicians and other key stakeholders. Drawing upon examples from the railway in Great Britain, he will examine the importance of media interventions and political engagement. This session will explore tactics to achieve results and influence government policy, while also exploring how to respond to challenges to policy positions and ways of managing setbacks.
Following the presentation will be a short response from John Martin, Head of Climate Engagement, Ireland Department of Transport. The webinar will be chaired by AET Board member, Conall Mac Aongusa.
