Jean-Louis Genard

Sociologist

Jean-Louis GENARD is a philosopher and doctor of sociology. He is University Professor at the ULB Faculty of Architecture "La Cambre-Horta.” He is editor-in-chief of the magazine SociologieS. He is co-director of the collections Action Publique edited by Peter Lang and Architecture et améngement du territoire edited by ULB. He has published many books, including La Grammaire de la responsabilité (Cerf, 2000), Action publique et subjectivité (with F. Cantelli, LGDJ, 2007), Enjeux patrimoniaux en contexte postcolonial (with J. le Maire, L’Harmattan, 2017), as well a great number of articles. His work focuses mainly on ethics, on responsibility, on public policies with a focus on social, urbanism and cultural issues, as well as on epistemology in human sciences.
