Appel à articles : MOBILITES DES JEUNES ET MIGRATIONS

Un numéro de Belgeo sera consacré au début 2018 au thème de la mobilité et des migrations des jeunes. Les jeunes sont entendus dans une définition large, comme les personnes nées entre 1982 et 2000, qu’ils soient étudiants ou travailleurs peu ou fortement qualifiés. Ce numéro incluera des communications présentées au Congrés EUGEO 2017, mais accueillera aussi d’autres contributions, traitant de l’un ou l’autre des sujets suivants :

• La mobilité internationale des jeunes : nouveaux modèles et nouveaux comportements ;
• Les déterminants de la mobilité des jeunes et de leurs migrations ; les déterminants des retours ;
• Les impacts de la mobilité des jeunes sur leurs trajectoires personnelles : plans de carrière, satisfaction et bien-être, réalisation d’objectifs personnels, identité, personnalité ;
• Les impacts sociaux et économiques de la migration des jeunes tant sur les régions d’origine que de destination ;
• Les scenarios pour l’avenir, à court et à long terme ;
• Les politiques nationales et européenne pour augmenter les bénéfices et réduire les coûts de la mobilité pour la société et les individus.

A thematic issue of Belgeo issue will be published et the beginning of 2018, tackling the issue of youth mobility and migration. A wide definition of youth is proposed: young persons are considered all those born over the millennium, between the year 1982 and the year 2000. They may be students, low-skilled and high-skilled workers. Both mobility and migration will be considered. This special issue will include contributions presented at the EUGEO 2017 Congress, but welcomes also other contributions dealing with one of the following topics:

• International youth mobility and migration: new models and new behaviours;
• Determinants of youth mobility and migration; determinants of return;
• Effects of youth mobility and migration on individuals: career advancement, personal satisfaction and wellbeing, achievement of personal goals, identity, personality;
• Social and economic impacts of youth mobility and migration both on origin and destination regions;
• Scenarios for the future: short-term and long-term scenarios for youth mobility and migration;
• EU and national policies for enhancing the benefits and reducing the costs of mobility and migration for society and individuals.

Mobility

For the Mobile Lives Forum, mobility is understood as the process of how individuals travel across distances in order to deploy through time and space the activities that make up their lifestyles. These travel practices are embedded in socio-technical systems, produced by transport and communication industries and techniques, and by normative discourses on these practices, with considerable social, environmental and spatial impacts.
