Richard Grimal

Economist

Richard Grimal, divisional engineer of state public works, is a mobility analyst at CEREMA, Centre d’études et d’expertise sur les risques, l’environnement, la mobilité et l’aménagement (center for studies and expertise on risks, the environment, mobility and development). In late 2015, he defended a doctoral thesis in economics entitled "Car mobility at the turn of the millennium: an interlocking, individual and longitudinal approach," which focused on changes in car mobility and use patterns, under the direction of Jean-Loup Madre, Director Emeritus of Research at the French Institute of Science and Technology for Transport, Spatial Planning and Networks (IFSTTAR). The thesis was awarded the Abertis Prize, which recognizes work in the field of mobility and infrastructure management. Richard Grimal also regularly submits papers to journals and international transportation conferences.
