Gina Porter

Anthropologist

Gina Porter is a professor in the Department of Anthropology, Durham University (UK). She has led a series of research projects on transport and mobility in sub-Saharan Africa over the last 30 years and published widely in this field. Uneven power relationships and associated issues of exclusion are linking themes through her work, much of which has a strong gender component. Associated with this is a focus on developing innovative methodologies for effective field research.
